The LORD is my Strength

Scripture: “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,…”---Matthew 11:29

Prayer: O God, I know no matter what befalls me in this life, my joy and peace cannot be taken away, if You are with me in my circumstances. You are my strength; the Bible says “take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls.”¹ You, O God give power to the weak, and to those who have no might, You increase their strength.² Because, You are a faithful and loving God, I pray that You will fill my heart with courage and strength so that I may become strong enough to follow You. I do pray that You will replace my fears with peace and transform my doubts into faith. I praise You O Lord for You “are a compassionate and gracious God, … turn to me and have mercy on me; grant your strength to your servant…”³

O God, I pray that as You give me renewed strength and courage each new day, that I in all earnest devotion will search out ways in which to serve You, as I call upon You for guidance and protection. I give You Praise in Jesus’ name. ---Amen

An Answer For Anxiety

Scripture: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.---Philippians 4:6-7

Prayer: O God, I feel sad and anxious today; because all that is around me in my life seems to be too much for me to bear. I need You to guide and control my life and to give me hope.

I simply need to live by faith in You. Help me in casting all my burdens on you.¹ I know in my heart that You will sustain me in my troubles. Help me to stop worrying and to know that trust in You is the answer to anxiety. I also pray O God that You will remind me that when I give my burdens to you, I should leave them with You. Help me to accept that You are working out things according to Your own plan. Be my refuge in my time of trouble.² As I ask for Your help, I think of others who might be feeling the way I do, so also I pray for all who are suffering emotionally this day. I pray that you will send us help and comfort and ease all of our worries.

O God, I hold on to You, for I know the plans You have for me; they are plans to prosper and not to harm, plans to give hope and a peaceful future.”³ In Jesus’ name. ---Amen.

Thinking about My Creator

Scripture: Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart,…---Ecclesiastes 9:7

Prayer: O God I pray that I may enjoy this day that You have given me. Let me put all gloom aside and enjoy some time in the sun today and be happy. I know my day goes more smoothly and enjoyable when I put You first; so I pray to You this morning and I will give service to You throughout the day, until night.¹ I look around and with joyful gratitude I give You thanks for all your gifts. I will remember and rejoice in You now, because the Bible says, “remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them”---² I find no pleasure in anxiety, so I will banish it from my heart and cast off the troubles in my life.³ I don’t know what is coming in my future, only You know what will happen.⁴ So, I will praise You now while I can, for the gift of my life, and the happiness and joy that You have put in my heart. I Praise and give thanks to You, O God, My Creator. In Jesus’ name. ---Amen

He Was Broken, That We Might Find Peace

Scripture: ---he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.---Isaiah 53:5

Prayer: O God, I am seeking the peace that totally heals me of my afflictions. Jesus was broken and suffered greatly for me. Out of Jesus’ brokenness, I am offered peace, the peace that transcends all understanding and the peace that guards my heart and my mind.¹ I want this kind of peace.

I offer You my life with its heavy burdens. Thank You that through Your love I might obtain this perfect peace for my life. I thank You, O God, for Your Son, that I might have everlasting life and have a more abundant, fulfilling earthly life.²

O God, I thank You that Jesus… “took up our infirmities and carried our sorrow;” because of His sacrifice for us we are healed of all our wounds of mind, heart and soul. We are made whole by the grace and mercy that flowed from his holy wounds, and “by his
wounds, we are healed”.³

O God, I praise You and give You thanks. In Jesus’ name.---Amen.

I Call To You In My Distress

Scripture: “Hear my prayer, O LORD; let my cry for help come to you. Do not hide your face from me when I am in distress, turn your ear to me; when I call, answer me quickly.”---Psalm 102:1,2

Prayer: O God, in this time of despair, and pain; give me hope and allow me to feel Your grace. It feels like my world has been turned upside down. I feel so uncertain about the future and what it holds for me and my family. It’s hard to eat or sleep. My body aches with the uncertainties that have sprung upon my life. I cry out to You, my Lord, and my God in this time of chaos in my life. You have always been by my side; please don’t leave me now. Please, be a source of comfort to me. Please allow me, and those close to me to feel Your comforting arms around us. Help me and my family to place our trust in You. You told me, …”never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”¹

O God, I hold on to Your words to me “…The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid…”²

O God, I pray You will keep my faith in You strong, so that I can hear Your words “…, you have great faith! Your request is granted.”³

O God, I am most gratefully yours. In Jesus’ name. ---Amen.

Stressful Times

Scripture: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.---Philippians 4:6

Prayer: O God, I am so stressed out; and it’s not only me. My family and those around me also seem to be uptight and even short tempered. I’m trying Lord to keep a positive outlook, but it is hard to put on a happy face, when those around me are so gloomy. O God, relieve me and those around me of our stress in our lives, show us how to deal with it objectively; replace it with simple joy; a joy of life, in which we take time to enjoy a beautiful sunlight day or even a warm smile from a child or a bird singing or the warmth of a friendly hug. It seems these little pleasures that you send our way are not getting noticed, because of the stressful times we live in. I know You will meet all our needs; I just need some re-assurance from You. Remind me to present all my plans to You. I know that under Your guiding influence I can succeed in all that I do.¹

I thank You, O God, for the Bible states, “we are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”²

I depend on You for my strength and I deeply desire Your presence in my daily life. O Lord You bless all who depend on You for their strength and all who deeply desire to visit You in Your holy place. I ask that You strengthen me in You, O God.³ In Jesus’ name. ---Amen.

I’m Sorry

Scripture: …but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth, and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.---Mark 4:19

Prayer: O God, I have neglected You and feel sad. It’s so easy to forget to spend time with You when things of this world seem so important. It seems that my life is so rushed that I just don’t have time for anything, but for what’s going on in my physical life. Show me how to be humble and reverent before you. I don’t want anything to obstruct my time with You. I thank You, that with Your help I will do better. Help me in feeling real remorse; I know that in my heart this is how I can know the immensity of Your infinite mercy. Your Holy Word tells me, the steps of a good man are ordered by You, and You delight in his way.¹ I want You, O God, to direct my life. I thank you for Your fellowship, and Your faithfulness. For Jesus’ sake. ---Amen.

Seeking Wholeness

Scripture: “Heal him, O Lord and he will be healed; save him and he will be saved, for you are the one I praise.” ---Jeremiah 17:14

Prayer: O Lord, I am praying today for those who need their faith and health restored. If they don’t know You in a personal way, I pray that You will make Yourself real to them by letting them feel Your love. I thank You, O Lord, that You do protect us and preserve our lives.¹ You, O Lord, are blessed for You have regard for those who are weak in the body and spirit. I believe in You, O Lord, that You will sustain us on our sickbeds and restore us from our beds of illness.² I have faith, O Lord, that you will have mercy on us, raise us up; then we will praise Your holy name.³ Have mercy on us according to Your unfailing love; and according to Your great compassion blot out our transgressions.⁴ May You, “The Lord be exalted!”⁵ For Jesus’ sake. ---Amen.

My Refuge is in God

Scripture: “---whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” ---Mark 11:34

Prayer: Almighty Father, help me to find refuge in Your infinite strength. I ask You, “O Lord, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy; in your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief.”¹ I run to Your merciful protection. You have always given me favor in the past; in the good times and the bad; and I am eternally indebted to You. Please hear my pleadings for Your intervention, for my life is in turmoil and has turned upside down. I am your child in need, please be with me. I am frozen with fear and uncertain of what is in the future, please send me divine assistance, protect me and in Your unfailing love, let me “find refuge in the shadow of Your wings.”²

I pray, Father, that You will give me the power of persistence to do Your will, and with Your help and support I know I can. I believe what the Bible says, “…whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”³ I pray, “For your name’s sake, O Lord, preserve my life; in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble. In Your unfailing love, silence my enemies, destroy all my foes, for I am Your servant.”⁴ My enemies are my circumstances, which are beyond my control and are leaving me in utter emotional turmoil. Almighty Father, Please hear my prayer, I trust in You to be my strength. In Jesus’ name. ---Amen.

O God, I’m being persecuted

Scripture: Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.---Romans 12:21

Prayer: O God, there are those around me who persecute. I pray You will give me strength to endure this time of suffering. O God, because Your holy word says, “bless those who persecute you…,”¹ I ask that You bless and touch the heart of the one who attacks me. I will remain obedient to You and with Your help will endure this persecution patiently. Because, “you prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies…”² and “your commands make me wiser than my enemies…,”³ “I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake…”⁴ The Bible tells me if I follow Jesus’ example, I will not take revenge, but fully trust God to judge fairly. Even though my enemies lay traps for me and they make plans to ruin me and they think up treacherous deeds all day long I should be deaf to all their threats. So, I will be silent before them as one who cannot speak. I wait for You, O Lord, to speak for me.⁵

I know my protection comes from You, O God, who made the heavens and earth! I know You watch over me. I believe that you will watch over me wherever I go, now and forever.⁶

O God, defend me against ungodly people; from those who are deceitful and unjust.⁷ You are my shelter in my times of trouble⁸ and I place my hope in You. I will praise You, for You are my Savior and my God..⁹ In Jesus’ name. ---Amen.
